DUARTE WEEKLY CRIME BLOTTER June 10 - June 16, 2018

                                
The following is a synopsis of crimes reported for the week of June 10 – June 16, 2018
 
June 10, 2018

  • A Grand Theft Vehicle was reported in the 1800 block of Huntington Drive.  A 2008 Infinity G35 was stolen from a parking lot.  The vehicle was recovered on 06-11-18 in San Bernardino.
 
  • A Petty Theft/Shoplifting was reported at 1050 Huntington Drive (Target).  A male juvenile was observed by loss prevention officers taking some “X-Box” accessories and placing them inside a comforter he selected.  The subject paid for the comforter, but not the X-Box accessories.  As the subject exited the store, he was detained.  After further investigation, the subject was by deputies and charged with shoplifting. 
 
  • A Commercial Burglary was reported at 1406 Huntington Drive (Tropicana Market).  Unknown person(s) shattered the front glass doors and stole approximately $100 from a back office.
 
June 11, 2018
  • A Robbery was reported at 1600 Mountain Avenue (Walmart).  An employee attempted to check the receipt of a male and female adult who were leaving the store with a big screen T.V. in their cart.  The suspect’s refused to stop and walked quickly towards the exit.  The employee chased after the suspect’s and a struggle ensued.  The employee was punched several times in the head.  The suspect’s picked up the T.V. and ran towards a 4-door Audi A-5 in the parking lot that was being driven by a male adult.  When the suspect’s noticed they were being videotaped by a witness, they dropped the T.V. and fled the location in the vehicle.       
 
June 12, 2018
  • No significant activity.     
 
June 13, 2018
  • A Vehicle Burglary was reported in the 2400 block of Crossroads Court.  Between 8:30 am and 9:00 am, forced entry was made into a Ford E-350 van containing landscaping equipment.  Two leaf blowers and an edger were stolen. 
 
  • A Petty Theft was reported in the 1200 block of Elmhurst Avenue.  Between 8:00 pm on 06-12-18 and 8:00 am on 06-13-18, someone entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole a wallet and two USB portable chargers.
 
 
 
 
  • A Grand Theft was reported at 2315 Huntington Drive (CVS).  Two female adults were seen in the vitamin section with two large oversized purses.  After the females left the store without purchasing anything, employees walked to the vitamin isle and noticed approximately $2,000 worth of vitamins and pregnancy test kits were missing.  There were no witnesses to the theft.
 
June 14, 2018
  • An Assault with a Deadly Weapon was reported in the 2500 block of Broderick Avenue in the unincorporated Monrovia County area.  An adult male and female were struck by gunfire.  Both victims were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  No suspects are in custody and the investigation is on-going.     
 
June 15, 2018
  • No significant activity. 
 
June 16, 2018
  • A petty theft was reported at 1050 Huntington Drive (Target).  Two male adults were observed by loss prevention selecting numerous electronic accessories, and were detained by loss prevention officers outside the store after failing to pay for the items.  As a deputy approached, both suspects started to run and a brief foot pursuit ensued.  Both suspects eluded capture and the stolen merchandise totaling approximately $100 was not recovered.
