 ROBBERY WITH GOLF CLUB – LYNCH CREEK TRAIL

Location:  Luchessi Park/Lynch Creek Trail, Petaluma
Suspect(s): Lee Bussell, 55 year old Petaluma resident


On June 16th, 2018 the Petaluma Police Department responded to the Petaluma Valley Hospital to speak with a victim regarding an assault.  The victim reported he was attempting to balance a golf club and a bottle of Mountain Dew while riding his bicycle eastbound through Luchessi Park.  The victim was riding near the Lynch Creek trail when the suspect, later identified as Lee Bussell "came out of nowhere" and knocked him off of his bicycle.  Bussell then picked up the golf club and struck the victim`s left forearm multiple times.   Bussell fled the scene on the victim`s bicycle with the golf club.
 
The victim sustained a fracture to his left ulna bone as a result of the assault. 
 
Bussell was located nearby on North McDowell Blvd and arrested for robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.  Bussell was booked at the Sonoma County Jail.
