Call to police regarding subject urinating in public leads to arrest of subject for firearms related offenses.

On June 15th at about 6:33pm, the Fairfield Police Department dispatch center received a call from a concerned citizen about a subject exposing himself and urinating at a public park in the 2900 block of Gulf Drive near a children’s playground.  Responding officers contacted a male that matched the description sitting inside of a parked vehicle.   The officers could see that the individual had open containers of alcohol in the vehicle while they were speaking with him.  The officers searched the vehicle attempting to locate any additional open containers.  While searching the vehicle the officers located a loaded .40 caliber Glock semi-automatic handgun.

Omari Garland, a 26 year old Fairfield resident was arrested and booked in Solano County Jail for several felony charges.

As always, we encourage all citizens to call the Police Department when you see suspicious or illegal behavior.  This is just one example of how calling the police led to the seizure of an illegally possessed firearm and the arrest of a subject for several felony offenses.
