Sheriff's Aviation Investigators are on scene and FAA and NTSB are enroute to conduct the investigation. Investigators expect Summit Valley Rd. will be closed throughout the night.

Summary:
On Friday, June 15, 2018 at 5:06 p.m. deputies responded to calls of a plane down on Summit Valley Rd., just south of the Hesperia Airport. Deputies, fire personnel and medical aid responded and found the downed aircraft on fire. Once the fire was extinguished, personnel determined two confirmed fatalities at this time.
A vehicle traveling on Summit Valley Rd. was struck by debris from the crash, causing damage to the vehicle. No injuries to anyone in the vehicle.
Hesperia Police suggests citizens avoid the area while the investigation is underway.
