Sonoma County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested a convicted felon for drugs, weapon possession

A Sonoma County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested a wanted felon for possession of drugs and a handgun last night. The incident started at about 11:45 PM when a deputy stopped a silver Mercedes with no license plates on Petaluma Ave in Sebastopol. The deputy contacted the driver, 47-year-old Clyde Hill of Santa Rosa.

 

Hill did not have a driver’s license with him, stating his was suspended. A records check determined that he had a $10,000 arrest warrant for a previous driving on a suspended license case. The deputy arrested Hill and found a small amount of methamphetamine in his pants pocket. A search of the car revealed more crystallized meth in a bag in the back seat of the car. The deputy continued to search the car and found a 9 mm handgun in the trunk, loaded with nine rounds.

 

Hill is a convicted felon, making it unlawful for him to possess a handgun. It is also unlawful to possess a firearm while also possessing narcotics. Hill was arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Jail on charges of felon in possession of firearm, possession of narcotics while armed, possession of methamphetamine and his warrant. Hill is being held on $40,000 bail.
