ARREST MADE IN UNION CITY PRE-SCHOOL ATTEMPT ARSON
On June 12, 2018, the Union City Police Department arrested 39 year old Kristina Romo of Union City for attempt arson. Romo was identified by a member of the public after they watched surveillance video of a suspected arson attempt at the "Safari Kids" Pre-school in Union City. After obtaining the anonymous tip, Detectives with the Union City and Newark Police Departments contacted Romo at her home and developed enough evidence to place her under arrest for the Union City incident. The motive behind the attempt arson is still being investigated. The Newark Police Arson investigation is still on-going.
