Deputies arrest two subjects in a dog theft investigation - 5 puppies recovered, 5 remain missing

SUSPECT(S): Christopher Earl Cox, 20-year old Victorville resident
16-year old male, Victorville resident
SUMMARY: On June 13, 2018, Sheriff’s Service Specialist C. Rodriguez and Deputy E. Cordero, from the Victorville Police Department, responded to a grand theft call in the 14300 block of Squirrel Lane.
The victim, who is a dog breeder, discovered ten of his AKC Red Standard Poodle puppies were missing from the backyard of his home. Through investigation and video surveillance footage from the location, deputies were able to identify two male suspects, a 16-year old male and 20-year old Christopher Earl Cox.
The 16-year old male was located and arrested that afternoon, at a nearby residence. He was booked at High Desert Juvenile Detention Center for grand theft. Cox was located on June 14, 2018, at a residence in the 13800 block of Chestnut Street, in Victorville. He was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for grand theft.
Five of the puppies were located and returned to the victim.
