Officers Receive the 200 Club Award

NARRATIVE:
On Friday June 8th members of the Township of Ocean Police Department were honored during the annual Monmouth County 200 Club awards luncheon held at the Spring Lake Golf Club.
Police Officers Nicholas Castellano and Casey Larrison were honored with a commendation for Life Saving for their efforts during a first aid call for service. A 12 year old township resident was reported to have stopped breathing and had no pulse. These officers performed lifesaving efforts on the victim utilizing a defibrillator where they administered a shock and continued CPR until the victim regained a pulse and began to breathe on her own.
Also receiving the award was Police Officers Christopher Clune and Arthur Barnek who were honored with a merit award for their actions in discovering a residential structure fire while on patrol in the middle of the night. The quick actions of these officer’s in alerting the residents, waking up remaining family members and ultimately bringing them to safety avoided any potential life threatening harm.
