The National Weather Service in St Louis has issued a
* Flood Advisory for... Northern Marion County in south central Illinois... Fayette County in south central Illinois...
* Until 730 AM CDT.
* At 424 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Up to three inches of rain have already fallen in the last two hours.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Vandalia, St. Elmo, Ramsey, Kinmundy, Brownstown, Patoka, Farina, Wrights Corner, Shobonier, Avena, La Clede, Pittsburg, Shafter, St. Peter, Vernon, Bingham, Loogootee, St. James, St. Paul and Bayle City. Additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is expected over the area in the next couple of hours. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. This includes the following highways... Interstate 70 in Illinois between exits 61 and 76. Interstate 57 in Illinois between exits 127 and 135. This also includes Ramsey Lake State Park.
