The crew of Air Rescue 306 conducted a hoist rescue of an injured hiker who had fallen and was unable to walk

LOCATION: Big Falls / Forest Falls, San Bernardino
VICTIM: Joaquin Tzintzun, age 22 a resident of Yucaipa
SUMMARY:
On Sunday, June 10, 2018, at approximately 5:00 pm, Sheriff’s Air Rescue 306 was requested by San Bernardino County Fire, reference a hiker, later identified as Tzintzun, who had fallen and injured his leg. When AR306 arrived, the crew made radio contact with fire personnel and they advised the subject could not walk due to his leg injury. AR306 lowered a medic to the victim, approximately 135 feet and the medic placed the victim into a rescue harness. The victim was hoisted up to the helicopter followed by the medic and then transported to a waiting ambulance.
