Pride Weekend Celebrations in West Hollywood Will Affect Streets and Parking Regulations

The City of West Hollywood plays host to the 2018 Christopher Street West LA Pride Celebration in West Hollywood on Saturday, June 9, 2018 and Sunday, June 10, 2018. Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to attend the Pride Festival and Parade.

Due to Pride events, the following streets and facilities will be temporarily closed:

  • West Hollywood Park will be closed from 6 a.m. on Monday, June 4, 2018 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2018;
  • West Hollywood Park Dog Parks will be closed from 6 a.m. on Monday, June 4, 2018 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2018;
  • West Hollywood Library will be closed from 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2018 to 11 a.m. on Monday, June 11, 2018;
  • West Hollywood Pool will be closed from 5 a.m. on Monday, June 4, 2018 to 6 a.m. on Monday, June 18, 2018;
  • Holloway Drive will be closed between Santa Monica Boulevard and Hacienda Place on Friday, June 8, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Santa Monica Boulevard will be closed between Robertson Boulevard and La Cienega Boulevard on Friday,  June 8, 2018 from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. — West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station will live-tweet regarding this closure/re-opening at @whdlasd;
  • San Vicente Boulevard will be closed between Santa Monica Boulevard and Melrose Avenue from 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2018 through 10 a.m. on Monday, June 11, 2018;
  • Santa Monica Boulevard will be closed from Fairfax Avenue to Doheny Drive from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 10, 2018;
  • Streets one block north and south of Santa Monica Boulevard will be closed from Fairfax Avenue to Doheny Drive from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 10, 2018;
  • Crescent Heights Boulevard will be closed from Romaine Street to Fountain Avenue from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 10, 2018;
  • Norton Avenue will be closed between Havenhurst Drive and Laurel Avenue from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 10, 2018; and,
  • Holloway Drive will be closed between Santa Monica Boulevard and      La Cienega Boulevard from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 10, 2018.

The City of West Hollywood will suspend enforcement of permit parking for Pride Weekend from 4 p.m. on Friday, June 8, 2018 to 12 p.m. on Monday, June 11, 2018. All metered parking will be enforced on Friday, June 8, 2018 and Saturday, June 10, 2018. Metered parking will also be enforced on Sunday, June 10, 2018 during the day of the Pride Parade. Attendees of festivities are encouraged to observe all posted parking restrictions; if parking occurs in the City of Los Angeles and/or the City of Beverly Hills, all parking restrictions must be observed.

Public Parking will be available at the following locations for a $20 fee on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday:

  • Kings Road Parking Structure, 8383 Santa Monica Boulevard
  • Hancock Parking Structure, 901 Hancock Avenue
  • Palm Lot, 815 Palm Avenue ($1.50 per hour)

Friday Evening Street Closures - Dyke March

Tonight, beginning around 7:45 pm, the Dyke March participants will travel down Santa Monica Boulevard to San Vicente Boulevard and back. We will close a traffic lane to allow them safe passage. Check with us on Twitter - @whdlasd - for street closure/reopening information at that time.

  • Sunset City Lot, 8775 Sunset Boulevard
  • Pacific Design Center, Melrose & San Vicente (Enter off of Melrose)
  • Palm Lot, 815 Palm Avenue ($1.50 per hour)

Pride-goers may take one of several Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) bus lines that connect to the City of West Hollywood, including: 4/704, 10, 30/330, 105/705, 212/312, 217, and 218. Each year, the City of West Hollywood celebrates the artistic contributions of the LGBTQ community with its vibrant One City One Pride LGBTQ Arts Festival. The festival runs for 40 days, from Harvey Milk Day on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 through Saturday, June 30, 2018, which marks the end of Pride month.
