Traffic stop leads to the discovery of a homemade zip gun & the arrest of a felon in possession of a firearm

INCIDENT: PC 29800(A)(1) Felon in Possession of a Firearm
LOCATION: Cypress Drive and Reservoir Drive, San Bernardino
SUSPECT(S): Rory Minor, age 35 a resident of San Bernardino
VICTIM(S):
SUMMARY: On June 5, 2018, Deputy E. Sanchez, from the Sheriff's Central Station, conducted a traffic stop and contacted the driver, Rory Minor. Sanchez discovered Minor had an outstanding warrant for Possession of a Short Barrel Shotgun. Sanchez conducted a search of Minor's vehicle, incident to his arrest, and located a homemade "Zip Gun." The metal pipe was manufactured to fire a 12 gauge shotgun round. Sanchez also discovered Minor is an ex-felon in the State of California. Minor was arrested and booked into the Central Detention Center for Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
