WANTED: Suspects who scammed Walmart out of cash; call 652-5205 or 65-CRIME with any information; cash reward offered
Police say these suspects are involved in a flimflam that bilks stores out of cash.
At approximately 5:15 p.m. on Sunday, April 8, the perpetrators pulled the scam at the Marion Walmart.
Sgt. Rick Gutierrez of the Marion Police Department said some of the suspects serve as lookouts while the other goes to the cashier and asks for change for a $100 bill. When the cashier gives the smaller bills, the con keeps some of the money, says he didn’t receive correct change and asks for his original $100 back.
Anyone with information concerning the identities of the suspects is asked to call Gutierrez at 652-5205 or email [email protected] or call McDowell County Crime Stoppers at 65-CRIME (652-7463). You can also text your tips to Crime Stoppers. Text MCDOWELLTIPS and your information to 274637 (CRIMES). With Crime Stoppers, your identity remains anonymous, and you could receive a cash reward.
