On June 5th, 2018, detectives with the Narcotics and Criminal Investigation Divisions of the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office conducted a vehicle stop on Gossett Trail in Mooresboro, NC. The driver of the viheicle was quickly identified as Vic Ryan Epley (Old Us Hwy 221-A Mooresboro).
While speaking with Epley, detectives noticed a Remington Model 700 rifle laying in the passenger seat of the vehicle. Detectives had Epley exit the vehicle to further their investigation. Detectives knew Epley to be a convicted Felon and he was not supposed to be in possession of any firearms.
During the course of the investigation 4.7 ounces of Methamphetamine was located on Epley and a High Point .380 ACP pistol was found in the car.
Epley was placed under arrest, transported to the Rutherford County Detention Center, where he was charged with: Trafficking In Methamphetamine, (2) counts of Possession of Firearm by Felon, Driving While License Revoked. Bond was set at $65,000.00 secured.
