Narrative:

Ventura County Sheriff’s Deputies arrest suspect in Burglary of a Camarillo church.

On 06-04-18, Camarillo patrol deputies responded to a burglary that just occurred in the 400 Block of Skyway Drive. Upon arrival, deputies learned a suspect was seen on surveillance video. The suspect entered the church and was then observed fleeing the area. The reporting party contacted the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center and provided a description of the suspect and last known direction of travel.

Camarillo Patrol deputies responded to the scene, set up a perimeter and contacted (S) Joseph Samuel Mustin a short distance away. During the preliminary investigation, deputies determined that Mustin was responsible for the burglary. As the investigation continued, Mustin was also found to be under the influence of a controlled substance as well as in possession of drug paraphernalia. Mustin was arrested for PC 459- Burglary, PC 466- Possession of Burglary Tools, HS 11550(a)- Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance, and HS 11364- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Mustin was booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility where his custody and his bail is set at $15,000.
