Reminder: SFPD Running Team Carrying Special Olympics Flame of Hope Torch thru City tomorrow Wed. June 6th beginning 9:20am.

THIS IS JUST A REMINDER, SFPD, DMV INVESTIGATORS AND LA SCHOOL POLICE WILL JOIN FORCES FOR THE SPECIAL OLYMPICS LAW ENFORCEMENT TORCH RUN HERE IN SAN FERNANDO TOMORROW, WEDNESDAY, JUNE 6TH 9:20 am.

The run will begin at approximately 9:20am in front of O’Melveny Street Elementary School (Chatsworth Drive and O’Melveny Street). The San Fernando Police Running Team and City Employees along with our law enforcement partners from DMV Investigations and LA School Police will receive the Flame of Hope Torch from LAPD Mission Area and travel with it from there along Brand Boulevard pass San Fernando Middle School to the Civic Center, passing the San Fernando Courthouse, City Hall and Police Station. It will then travel to the San Fernando Mall entering from San Fernando Mission Blvd. on San Fernando Road and we will pass off the Torch to LAPD Foothill Division in front of Rydell Automotive. The run will likely pass through the mall between 9:20 and 9:30am.

Great places to view the run include:

• O’Melveny Street Elementary School
• Brand Blvd between Mott Street and Third Street
• City Hall, San Fernando Courthouse and San Fernando Police Station
• The Mall between San Fernando Mission Blvd to pass Chatsworth Drive in front of Rydell.

Thanks again to our great public safety partners, the Los Angeles Fire Department, the US Flag will be proudly displayed at the intersection of Maclay Avenue and San Fernando Road.
In addition, thanks to our City’s public works partners and local businesses who have sponsored our team, a banner is proudly displayed welcoming the Torch to our City. It is displayed on San Fernando Road between San Fernando Mission Blvd. and Maclay Avenue .

It is his leadership that allows us to have these great events in support of Special Olympics.
