On 6-5-18 at 12:23 AM Janesville Police were sent to a disturbance at 1433 W. Memorial Dr. for a female screaming for help. While enroute to the location there was mention of a gun possibly being involved in the incident and that a male black suspect had left in a vehicle. The first arriving officer found a male black running back to the location who was identified by the victim and witnesses as the subject who left in the car initially. Officers determined this was a domestic dispute where the female victim was battered by the male who left in the car. The victim told officers the suspect had a firearm and marijuana in the vehicle. Officers located the vehicle a short distance away unoccupied. Janesville K9 “Grand” alerted on the vehicle and a probable cause search yielded 5.7lbs of marijuana and two firearms.

Upon contacting the suspect he showed signs of impairment. Field sobriety tests confirmed the suspect was impaired by drugs at the time he left the scene in the vehicle.

Based on information gathered during the investigation, officers drafted a search warrant for the house which was signed by a judge. Upon execution of the warrant, $1821 in cash, 6 grams of THC, drug paraphernalia, and packaging material were recovered. The suspect, Aristide Serrano, was arrested and held at the Rock County Jail pending his initial appearance in court.
