Deputies arrest 17 yr old male from Yucaipa for vehicle theft from a resident in Needles

LOCATION: Cherry St./Victory Drive, Needles
SUSPECT(S): the 17-year-old male of Yucaipa
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On June 2, 2018, at approximately 10:00 am, deputies from the Colorado River Station/ Needles Police Department were dispatched to the 1900 block of Peru Street in Needles, reference a vehicle that was stolen from a residence. Deputies located the stolen vehicle at the intersection of Cherry Street and Victory Drive. The vehicle was unoccupied and parked on the dirt shoulder of Cherry Street. Deputies observed a white male enter the vehicle and began driving south on Cherry Street. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and took the driver into custody without incident. The 17-year-old male was found to have a juvenile no-bail warrant for his arrest. The 17-year-old male was arrested and transported to the Apple Valley Juvenile Detention Center and booked for the warrant, vehicle theft and possession of a stolen vehicle.
