Flood Warning until 11:39PM

...A FLOOD WARNING FOR SMALL STREAMS REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 130 AM EDT MONDAY FOR NORTHWESTERN WASHINGTON COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL MARYLAND...ALLEGANY COUNTY IN WESTERN MARYLAND...NORTHWESTERN SHENANDOAH AND FREDERICK COUNTIES IN NORTHWESTERN VIRGINIA...NORTH CENTRAL ROCKINGHAM COUNTY IN WESTERN VIRGINIA...NORTHEASTERN CLARKE COUNTY IN NORTHWESTERN VIRGINIA...SOUTHWESTERN JEFFERSON AND MORGAN COUNTIES IN THE PANHANDLE OF WEST VIRGINIA...EASTERN MINERAL AND HARDY COUNTIES IN EASTERN WEST VIRGINIA...WESTERN BERKELEY COUNTY IN THE PANHANDLE OF WEST VIRGINIA AND HAMPSHIRE COUNTIES IN EASTERN WEST VIRGINIA... At 621 PM EDT, local law enforcement officials continued to report flooding of numerous roads across the area. Portions of Morgan and Hampshire counties in West Virginia are experiencing significant flooding with multiple roads under water, and residents should use extra caution in these areas. In addition, a stream gauge on Sideling Hill Creek at Bellegrove Maryland is indicating flooding is ongoing. At 606 PM, the stream was at 7.9 feet and slowly falling, and will fall below flood stage this evening. Lowlands near the creek are flooded and Allegheny Line Road may also be flooded. Some locations that may experience flooding include... Winchester, Cumberland, Martinsburg, Frostburg, Keyser, Moorefield, Romney, Hancock, Bel Air, Paw Paw, Greenwood, La Vale, Inwood, Fort Ashby, Berkeley Springs, Wardensville, Basye-Bryce Mountain, Mathias, Ridgeley and Cresaptown.

Instructions:

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying spots.
