OSBI investigates double homicide in Chickasha and related officer involved shooting just north of Pocasett.

Early this morning the Grady County Sheriff requested the OSBI to investigate an officer involved shooting just north of Pocasset. In addition the Chickasha Police Chief requested assistance pertaining to a double homicide. OSBI sent both investigative and crime scene agents to both scenes. Preliminary information is that a 911 call was made to Chickasha Police of a shooting. As officers arrived a pickup truck was seen leaving the residence. Chickasha Police initiated a pursuit and was assisted by Grady County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Other officers at the scene in Chickasha reported two deceased adults and two children, aged 4 and 11, at the residence. The children were not harmed. A vehicle intervention maneuver was conducted by the Highway Patrol Trooper and the pickup crashed. Law Enforcement engaged the driver of the vehicle who refused to follow commands and show his hands. At some time the officers felt threatened and law enforcement personnel from Chickasha Police, Grady County Sheriff, and the Highway Patrol fired at the driver of the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He is identified as 32 year old Julio Eduardo Hernandez Mata from Chickasha. The deceased female at the residence in Chickasha is identified as 31 year old Rebecca Mae Ancheta Hernandez Mata. Julio and Rebecca were married. The deceased male at the residence in Chickasha has not been identified yet. Attached is a photograph of Mata.
