Flood Warning until 02:40PM Monday

The National Weather Service in Charleston West Virginia has extended the

* Flood Warning for... Central Randolph County in northeastern West Virginia...

* Until 615 AM EDT Sunday.

* At 859 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain was diminishing across area. Mill Creek was running out of its banks and the gage at the town of Mill Creek was showing a stage of 12.4 ft as of 745 PM EST with some flooding along County Route 39. Expect flooding of small creeks and streams overnight in and around Mill Creek, with additional rises along the Tygart Valley River as runoff continues downstream.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Elkins, Mill Creek, Dailey, Beverly, Womelsdorf (Coalton), Huttonsville, Kerens and Valley Head.

* AFFECTED AREAS: RANDOLPH

Instructions:

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or creeks. Please report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll free, 800 401 9535, when you can do so safely. You may also report flooding by posting your report to the Charleston West Virginia National Weather Service Facebook Page, or by using the Twitter Hashtag, NWSRLX.
