Flood Warning until 11:00AM Tuesday

...The Flood Warning continues for the French Broad River in North Carolina... at Fletcher affecting Henderson and Buncombe Counties. The heavy rainfall threat across the upper French Broad River valley has ended; however, significant runoff continues into the upper French Broad River and associated tributaries. The floodwave has crested and floodwaters are continuing to recede across the valley but scattered to widespread Minor flooding will persist into early next week. Additional widespread or basin-average heavy rainfall is not expected through mid-week next week. ...Flood Warning extended until Tuesday morning... The Flood Warning continues for The French Broad River Near Fletcher.

* At 11:45 AM Saturday the stage was 13.5 feet and falling steadily.

* Minor Flood Stage is 13.0 feet.

* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.

* Minor flooding is defined as flooding of low-lying area next to streams including farmland, recreational areas, greenways, and boat access ramps. A few secondary roads may be impacted as well.

* Forecast...the river will continue to fall to below Minor Flood Stage by tonight. However, the river will remain above Action Stage through early Tuesday morning. Therefore, residual flooding will persist until Tuesday and the Flood Warning will continue until that time.

* Impact...At 13.0 feet...Minor Flood Stage. French Broad River floodwaters are now inundating Banner Farm Rd. Floodwaters may be approaching portions of Glenn Bridge Rd. Farmland and other low-lying areas within the French Broad River Valley from Etowah to Avery Creek are experiencing scattered flooding. Glenn Bridge Park and river access is experiencing scattered flooding. &&
