Heat Advisory until 07:00PM Saturday

...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR NORTHWEST PARTS OF NORTH TEXAS UNTIL SATURDAY EVENING...AND A HEAT ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM 1 TO 7 PM SATURDAY EASTWARD ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE I-20 AND I-30 CORRIDORS... .The hottest temperature of the year thus far are expected on Saturday ahead of a cold front. Humid conditions, combined with the hot temperatures will result in heat indices of 105-110 degrees during the afternoon hours near and north of the I-20 and I-30 corridors. ...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM TO 7 PM CDT SATURDAY... The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a Heat Advisory, which is in effect from 1 PM to 7 PM CDT Saturday.

* TEMPERATURES...Highs ranging from 97 to 104 degrees on Saturday.

* AFTERNOON HEAT INDICES...Heat indices will be around 105 to 110 degrees.

* IMPACTS...The very hot conditions will increase the risk of heat related illnesses, especially amongst the elderly, young children and persons with heart conditions.

* AFFECTED AREAS: COLLIN ... DALLAS ... DELTA ... DENTON ... FANNIN ... GRAYSON ... HUNT ... LAMAR ... PARKER ... ROCKWALL ... TARRANT ... WISE

Instructions:

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible...reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water. To reduce risk during outdoor work the occupational safety and health administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency - call 911.
