The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
Northern Calhoun County in east central Alabama...
Southern Cherokee County in northeastern Alabama...

* Until 345 PM CDT.

* At 140 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms were moving across the area. Rainfall of one to two
inches has fallen in localized areas...and another inch is
possible during the next hour. This will produce localized
flooding of roadways in the area...especially near small creeks
and streams or in low-lying flood prone areas with poor drainage.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Jacksonville, Piedmont, Centre, Cedar Bluff, Forney, Centre
Municipal Airport, Saks, Glencoe, Weaver, Ohatchee, Tennala,
Pleasant Gap, Eastern Weiss Lake, Alexandria, Jacksonville State
University, Neely Henry Lake, Moshat, Ball Flat, Western Weiss Lake
and Southside.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
