Corte Madera, Ca 05/30/2018. A vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision occurred on Tamalpais Drive at Lakeside Drive in Corte Madera at approximately 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evening.
 
The Central Marin Police Authority received numerous 911 calls stating that there had been a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle on Tamalpais Drive.  It was reported that the pedestrian was hit by a black BMW in the westbound number two lane of Tamalpais Drive in the crosswalk at the intersection of Lakeside Drive.

Central Marin Fire Department firefighters and paramedics were dispatched to the scene of the collision and began treating the 27-year-old male pedestrian.  CMPA officers arrived shortly thereafter and began an investigation.  
 
Several independent witnesses stated the pedestrian was in the crosswalk at the time of the collision, and that the pedestrian warning lights were flashing. The driver of the involved vehicle was contacted at the scene and has been cooperating with the ongoing investigation. Early investigation indicates that the driver was traveling at or near the speed limit, however the setting sun appeared to have played a factor. It does not appear that drugs or alcohol played a factor in the collision. Any witnesses are encouraged to contact the Central Marin Police Authority at 415.927.5150.

Westbound Tamalpais Drive was reduced to one lane while the pedestrian was being treated for his injuries. He was transported to Marin General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
