05/01/2018 *Home Invasion

200 Block of Diamond Circle – Homeowner arrived home to discover her door secured but not the way she left it. Homeowner discovered her personal underwear out of the drawer, with no other property disturbed. Officers collected evidence, matter remains under investigation.

05/02/2018 *Hit & Run

East Shore & Main St Bicyclist was struck by a vehicle. The Bicyclist rider advised he was not hurt, nor was his bicycle damaged. Video footage was reviewed, but was unable to provide additional info on driver. No suspect identified

05/03/18 *UDAA – Unlawfully Driving Away of an Automobile

3900 E Northfield Church At 3AM a resident observed their 2016 White Chevy Silverado 4 door pickup parked in driveway; at 9:30AM the resident discovered this vehicle missing without owner’s permission. Owner advised that the vehicle was left unlocked with the keys in the vehicle. The unoccupied vehicle was recovered at approximately 6PM in Detroit. Northfield Officers processed the vehicle for evidence. Case remains under investigation.

05/04/2018 *Arrest- Drive on Suspended License 2 prior convictions

6 Mile & U.S 23 Traffic Violation (cracked windshield) resulted in determining the driver was driving with a suspended license –vehicle was impounded, license plate removed for destruction and driver arrested.

05/05/2018 *Possible Home Invasion/Suspicious Situation

200 Block of Diamond Circle – Homeowner believes someone entered her home through a poorly secured back door, no property appeared missing, but property was not as homeowner left it. Case remains under investigation.

05/05/2018 *Arrest – Possession of Marijuana

U.S 23 & 8 Mile Rd Traffic Violation(Speed) Stop resulted in the discovery of marijuana. Marijuana confiscated, female driver from Lansing arrested and her vehicle impounded. Driver released from the station awaiting lab results.

05/06/2018 *Arrest-Larceny (theft) of Firearm

9100 Elizabeth Complainant reported that after staying at an acquaintance’s home, she discovered her firearm missing from her property. Northfield officers investigated, determined the suspect, recovered the firearm and made an arrest. On 05/13/2018 a 2 count felony charge was authorized

05/08/2018 *Home Invasion – Suspects Identified

400 Block of Barker Suspect entered home by breaking out basement window. Suspect(s) helped herself to a can of beer, homeowner’s son arrived to discover two suspects in the house and ordered them out. Northfield Officers investigated, identified the suspect and has forwarded the report to the prosecutor’s for review.

05/08/2018 *Home Invasion

9000 Block of Garfield Homeowner advised that between 12:28pm & 6pm an Unk Male, in his 20’s wearing a baseball cap entered their home by removing a kitchen window screen, suspect took cash, a watch and some cologne. Suspect exited through the homes’ north doors. The suspect was captured on home video. Case remains under investigation.

05/08/2018 *Fraud

100 Block of East Shore Victim reported that he received a call advising that his purchase was being shipped. Victim had not made a purchase and as he reviewed his accounts it was determined that someone had made several purchasing through several outlets using his pay pal account tied into his credit card. Victim was advised to close all accounts. The case remains under investigation.

05/11/2018 *3 Arrests - Armed Robbery

Pine & Elizabeth at approximately 12:00 am, 2 Female Victims age 19 & 16 from Brighton reported they were robbed at gun point. The victims arranged to meet an acquaintance and “hang out”. After meeting, the acquaintance entered their car, then two unk subjects in dark clothing, wearing masks and carrying a shotgun approached the vehicle. The victims fearing for their safety and drove off. The acquaintance jumped out of their vehicle and the victims were not harmed. The investigation revealed 3 males, two 17 year olds from Whitmore Lake and a 17 year old from Pinckney were involved with a possible drug deal with the females. Northfield Officers investigated and three suspects were arrested a short time after the incident.

Cooper Cummins Hahn 17 of Whitmore Lake is being charged with:
Count 1: Robbery- Armed, a Felony, punishable by up to life or
any terms of years.
Count 2: Conspiracy to Commit Robbery- Armed, a Felony,
punishable by up to life or any term of years and a
$10,000 additional fine.
Count 3: Weapons- Firearms- Short- Barreled Shotgun/Rifle, a
Felony, punishable by 5 =years or $2,500.
Hahn is also facing additional charges unrelated to this incident.
Hahn is being held in the Washtenaw County on a $75,000 cash
bond.

Paul Nathaniel Durkin 17 years of age from Pinckney is being charged with:
Count 1: Robbery- Armed, a Felony, punishable by up to life or
any terms of years.
Count 2: Conspiracy to Commit Robbery- Armed, a Felony,
punishable by up to life or any term of years and a
$10,000 additional fine.
Durkin is being held in the Washtenaw County Jail on a $25,000
cash bond.

Andrew Robert Harper 17 years of age from Whitmore Lake is being charged with:
Count 1: Robbery- Armed, a Felony, punishable by up to life or
any terms of years.
Count 2: Conspiracy to Commit Robbery- Armed, a Felony,
punishable by up to life or any term of years and a
$10,000 additional fine.
Harper is being held in the Washtenaw County Jail on a 25,000
cash bond

05/11/2018 *Arrest – Operating While Intoxicated

8800 Block of Main Traffic Violation (speed) Stop, revealed the driver was intoxicated and was traveling to pick up a child from school. After some sobriety tasks, female driver was arrested. A warrant has been forwarded to the prosecutor for review.

05/12/2018 *Hit & Run – Failing to report an Accident

E. North Territorial Rd & Spencer -Officers arrived to discover an unoccupied vehicle in the ditch. Officers attempted to make contact with the Whitmore Lake resident/owner without success. Vehicle was impounded, Owner eventually contacted Northfield Police in regards to his vehicle and was questioned. A warrant request was submitted for Failing to report and Accident.

05//13/2018 *Malicious Destruction of Property

7800 Block of Coyle Officers investigated damage to a vehicle caused by a chair which was also damaged – Two separate complainants reported the damage and the suspect was identified. Report forwarded to the prosecutors for review of charges.

05/13/2018 *Arrest –Fugitive Warrants

N/B US23 & E North Territorial – Traffic stop for improper plate violation revealed driver was wanted on two outstanding warrants. Driver was arrested and taken to Washtenaw County jail awaiting Pittsfield and Canton Police.

05/ 14/2018 *Unlawful Driving Away of an Automobile (Stolen
Vehicle)

1200 Block of Barker Rd. Complainant reported to Dirt Bikes missing from a trailer on their property. Officers investigated the theft of 2 dirt bike motorcycles, the dirt bikes were recovered and the case remains under investigation.

05/19/2018 * Mischievous Juveniles – Trespass Notices

7800 Turnberry Homeowner reported trouble with the juveniles ringing his doorbell; Officers investigated and identified the subjects involved. Subjects were issued trespass warnings.

05/20/2018 *Embezzlement
1100 Block of 6 Mile The owner of the business reported that money and equipment had been taken from the business and converted for personal use. Owner believes that the suspect involved was a former employee; the case remains under investigation.

05/24/2018 *Drug Overdose –Saved with Naloxone

60 Block of E. North Territorial - Caller pulled into gas station to report his friend had been using heroin and was overdosing. Officers arrived and observed signs of an overdose episode. Officers and Fire fighters administered Narcan, and after the 2nd dose the suspect became conscious and was transported to U of M for further medical evaluation.

05/24/2018 *Breaking & Entering Business

6900 Block of Whitmore Lake - Sometime between 11:00pm and 5:00am suspects pried open the side entrance door and stole cash. An attempt was made to pry open the cash register, but the suspect was unsuccessful. The case remains under investigation awaiting a review of video footage and evidence left at the scene.

05/28/2018 *Arrest “Retail Fraud” – theft from Polly’s Market

9500 Block of Main St – Suspect observed placing meat beneath his clothing, A store employee observed suspect attempting to hide some item beneath his clothing. Suspect was confronted and the police called. Meat & candy were recovered from the suspect. Suspect was arrested. The case has been forwarded to the prosecutor for review of the charges.

05/29/2018 *Credit Card Fraud Capturing of information

300 Block of E. Shore – Victim reported that both he & his wife became the target of a credit card fraud within a week. As they both reviewed their credit card usage, they believe that the cards could have been compromised while pumping gas. Officers investigated and an initial search of the gasoline pumps could not locate a skimming device. The case remains under investigation.

05/29/2018 *Arrest -Felonious Assault

60 Block of Phlox -Victim reported that the suspect pointed a gun at him causing the victim to fear for his safety. Officers arrived, located and identified the suspect and the firearm which was determined to be a BB Gun. Suspect arrested and BB Gun confiscated.
