MAY 24TH DEATH INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN RULED A HOMICIDE

On Thursday, 24 May 2018, at approximately 10:18 pm, Wilmington Police were summoned to W. 5th and N. Madison Streets with regard to a 'SHOT SPOTTER' alert.

Upon the officers arrival, they located a 20-year-old male victim, who was identified as:  JEREMY TUNNELL of the 800 block of W. 5th Street, and he was suffering from a gunshot wound his lower abdomen.

TUNNELL was treated on scene by New Castle County paramedics.  After, he was transported to the Christiana Hospital via ambulance where he subsequently succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

At the time of this incident the investigation was considered a DEATH INVESTIGATION until the official cause of death was determined by the State of Delaware Division of Forensic Science.

The State of Delaware Division of Forensic Science has concluded that JEREMY TUNNELL'S death has been ruled a HOMICIDE.
