The Huron River water levels are extremely high. The current is fast and dangerous to many boaters. Please use EXTREME caution if you choose to even go into the river at this time.
The John Flook Dam is another major concern. The currents from Portage Lake are very strong and depending on your location/boat size, can pull you towards the Flook Dam. Please use caution if you are boating in this area. (Portage Lake area near the DNR boat launch off of McGregor Road).
Always remember to practice safe boating. While you are out enjoying the waterways, keep safety in mind. This includes the use of a U.S. Coast Guard Approved Personal Floatation Device (PFD).
