Robbery occurred on 5/23/18 at 3:15pm in the 1400 block of Van Dyke Rd. No injuries sustained. 
On Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at approximately 1515 hours, a juvenile victim was walking home from school in the 1400 block of Van Dyke Rd. The juvenile was holding his cellular telephone in his left hand when the suspect, who was also walking on the sidewalk, grabbed it from his hand and ran northbound on Van Dyke Rd. The suspect entered the passenger side of a white Volvo SUV, which fled northbound on Van Dyke Rd. The juvenile victim was not injured.
Suspect description:
Black male in his 20's, 6'1" - 6'3", thin build, short brown hair, clean shaven, last seen wearing a dark colored long sleeve shirt, and dark colored pants.
Officers and Pasadena Police Airship responded and were unable to locate any suspect(s) or suspect vehicle.
A similar incident was reported in the city of San Gabriel a short time after this robbery occurred. Detectives will be working with the San Gabriel Police Department in identifying if these crimes are related, and the identification of the suspects involved.
The San Marino Police Deparment's burglary suppresion detail have been deployed throughout the city and we will be providing extra patrol in marked in and unmarked vehicles in an effort to combat crime.
