The sound of gun shots near Ignacio Blvd/Indian Way were illegal fireworks. 
Tonight at about 9PM, several callers reported the sound of gun shots near Ignacio Blvd and Indian Way. Several Officers responded and spoke to witnesses, and initiated an investigation. Evidence was obtained which indicated the sounds originated from fireworks at San Jose Middle School. Although no one is in custody, witnesses described two teenaged boys fleeing the scene. The suspects are still outstanding.
The Novato Police Department would like to remind everyone that all fireworks are illegal in Marin County.
