Sunday, May 13, 2018
Robbery
Location: 2500 Block of Walsh Avenue

Two male suspects approached from behind the victim. The victim is a security guard of a business on the 2500 block of Walsh Avenue. Suspect #1 grabbed the victim and placed a knife against the victim’s neck. Meanwhile, Suspect #2 demanded and stole the victim’s property. Suspect #2 dropped the victim’s cell phone as he fled the scene.
The victim recovered the cell phone and contacted Public Safety Dispatchers. The suspects remain at large.

Monday, May 14, 2018
Assault
Location: 3500 Block of Homestead Road

Officers responded to the 3500 block of Homestead Road on a report of a disturbance in a parking lot.
Officers arrived on scene and detained three people matching the reporting party’s description of the subjects. One of the subjects refused officers' commands and resisted being detained. The suspect kicked two officers several times while being placed in handcuffs. The suspect was placed in a safety restraint to reduce potential for injury.
While in custody, the subject complained of shortness of breath. The Santa Clara Fire Department was summoned and the subject was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. While en-route, the suspect spat on one of the paramedics. The suspect continued to yell profanities at hospital staff and threatened officers with bodily harm.
The subject was transported to the Santa Clara County Jail, where Santa Clara County Correctional Deputies assisted to book the combative subject.

Tuesday, May 15, 2018
Fraud
Location: 1600 Block of Scott Boulevard

An officer was dispatched to the 1600 block of Scott Boulevard on a report of a fraud incident.
Three elderly victims had checks and credit cards stolen. In addition, one employee had cash taken from her purse. After following leads, the officer was able to identify a female suspect who also served as a caregiver at the retirement home. The suspect was interviewed and confessed to the crimes. The total loss was over $8,500. The case will be submitted to the District Attorney's Office for prosecution.

Driving Under the Influence
Location: Stevens Creek Boulevard and Winchester Boulevard

An officer responded to the intersection of Stevens Creek Boulevard and Winchester Boulevard to investigate a report of a vehicle collision.
Upon arrival, the officer determined there were no injuries sustained in the collision however, the suspect displayed objective symptoms of alcohol intoxication. The suspect failed to perform Standardized Field Sobriety tests satisfactorily and blew a 0.16 and 0.173 on preliminary alcohol screenings. The suspect was arrested.

Thursday, May 17, 2018
Burglary
Location: 2900 Block of Monroe Street

Officers were dispatched to a report of a burglary in progress on the 2900 block of Monroe Street.
The homeowner was at work and was alerted to the burglary via a home surveillance system. As officers arrived in the area, the suspect attempted to run and jump fences. Responding officers quickly locked down a perimeter. A male suspect matching the description provided by the reporting party to Public Safety Dispatchers was located. As the officer attempted to stop the suspect, he threw jewelry into the storm drain and ran away. He was apprehended a short time later.
Once at the Police Building, the suspect was interviewed by detectives and linked to two more Santa Clara burglaries. He was transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Warrant Arrest - Felony
Location: El Camino Real at Calabazas Boulevard

Officers working as a two-person unit observed a male subject committing traffic violations on his bike at El Camino Real and Calabazas Boulevard. The officers stopped the subject and a Records check revealed he had a felony warrant. He was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Saturday, May 19, 2018
Drunk in Public
Location: 800 Block of Fremont Street

Residents called Public Safety Dispatchers to report a male suspect smashing their plant pots outside their front door on the 800 block of Fremont Street.
Officers arrived and made contact with the intoxicated male suspect. He was taken into custody without incident. The suspect was in possession of someone else’s driver’s license and provided the officer with incorrect identifying information. The suspect was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon
Location: Boynton Avenue and Stevens Creek Boulevard

An officer observed a vehicle on Northlake Drive approaching Stevens Creek Boulevard that did not have a functioning brake light. The officer initiated a traffic enforcement stop on Boynton Avenue.
The suspect made some evasive maneuvers and tried to conceal himself in a parking lot. The officer located the suspect vehicle, parked behind it with the emergency lights activated and attempted to make contact with him. As the officer approached the suspect, he accelerated in reverse and rammed the patrol vehicle multiple times before fleeing northbound on Boynton Avenue toward Stevens Creek Boulevard. The officer narrowly avoided being struck by the vehicle.
A be-on-the-lookout was sent to all law enforcement agencies in Santa Clara County. The vehicle was not located and remains outstanding.
