Fire destroy Simi Valley apartment 
On May 22, 2018, at 11:00 am, Simi Valley Police Officers responded to 1560 Patricia Avenue to assist the Ventura County Fire Department with an apartment fire. The renter was not present when the fire broke out and no humans were injured; however, a dog was found dead in the apartment. The cause of the fire remains under investigation and it is possible that although only one unit was burned other units within the building were damaged by either smoke or water. Red Cross was on-scene to assist any displaced families.
