CRIME: 664/187 PC – Attempt Homicide
VICTIM: Male Hispanic, approximately 39 years of age, Pomona resident (name withheld until next of kin have been notified)
SUSPECT(S): Unknown
SUSPECT VEHICLE: Unknown

NARRATIVE:
On Sunday, May 20, 2018 at approximately 1:57 PM, Pomona Police dispatch received several 911 calls reporting shots fired in the 1300 block of Cordova St. followed by sounds of a traffic collision. When officers arrived on scene, they located a traffic collision and a male adult suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper extremity. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he remains in grave condition.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit were notified and responded to take over the investigation. They have been collecting evidence, interviewing potential witnesses and looking for clues that can help them determine the cause and/or motive. It is unclear at this time what precipitated this incident, but no other person(s) were struck by gunfire.

Crime: 245 PC Assault w/Deadly Weapon
Date; 5/20/18
Time: 1357 hrs.
Victim: Male, NFD
Victim was traveling southbound on Cordova St, when he sustained a gunshot wound to the upper torso. As a result of the wound he collided with parked vehicles and came to rest on the 1300 Blk of Elysian Ave. The victim was slumped over the steering wheel and medical aid was rendered immediately. The victim was transported to PVCH for treament.
The Detective Bureau is responding to began an investigation. It is unknown if it is gang related..
