Human Trafficking Suspect Arrested by Major Crimes Task Force
NARRATIVE:
On Saturday, May 19, 2018 the Pomona Police Major Crimes Task Force conducted a VICE operation focused on the area known as the Holt Corridor. The operation used plainclothes officers who conducted surveillance along the Holt Corridor.
During the course of the operation, officers conducted surveillance of a suspected prostitute loitering on East Holt Ave. Officers watched the suspected prostitute approach a vehicle that was parked. The prostitute entered the vehicle with confidence as if she knew the occupant. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle related to a prostitution investigation.
After interviewing both parties, it was determined that Carrier had transported the female to Pomona to work as a prostitute. Carrier was arrested for 266i PC – Pandering while the female was arrested for 653.22(a)(1) PC – Loitering to Commit Prostitution.
