15 yr old male arrested for several vehicle burglaries in the area of Front Street and West Broadway St.

SUSPECT: 15-year-old male, resident of Needles
VICTIM(S): Numerous citizens
SUMMARY:
On May 16, 2018 in the early morning hours, deputies from the Needles Police Department were dispatched to a series of vehicle burglaries that occurred overnight in the area of West Broadway and Front Street in the city of Needles.
During the investigation, deputies discovered the suspect(s) had forced entry into a number of vehicles that were parked in the area and stole several items from those vehicles. The suspect(s) broke windows and cut through storage covers to steal numerous items, including a child’s BMX style bicycle.
On May 17, 2018 at around 1:00 p.m., while on patrol in the city of Needles, Deputy Deruiter witnessed a male juvenile riding a BMX bike that matched the bicycle stolen in the overnight thefts. Deruiter contacted the juvenile and based on evidence and statements, determined the bicycle was the one stolen the previous day.
The juvenile was placed under arrest for PC496(a), Possession of Stolen Property and PC148.9, Providing false Information to an Officer. Additionally, the juvenile had an unrelated No Bail warrant. The juvenile was cited for the new charges, and released to the Department of Children and Family Services in accordance with the detention warrant.
