As part of the Jackson Police Department's continuing effort of fulfilling it's Mission Statement, Chief Julian Wiser presents Pastor Ronald Benton with a $1500 check from the department's community fund to assist him and his continued efforts of making a difference in the East Jackson community. Pastor Benton and his church family have made significant strides to make a difference in some of the most challenged areas of Jackson.
This summer, Pastor Benton will open the Old Hub Club located at 201 Ash Street. His plans are to have a summer program while providing a safe haven for the area's youth. He also plans to provide after school assistance throughout the year.
According to Chief Wiser, "because we have witnessed the efforts of Pastor Benton in the community of East Jackson, we wanted to support his continued efforts by partnering with him in a collaborative effort of bringing positive and significant change to the East Jackson community."
