A man leads deputies on a highspeed pursuit through Victorville and Apple Valley

INCIDENT: Evading a Peace Officer
LOCATION: Bear Valley Road, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Sean Watson, 25-year old Adelanto resident
SUMMARY: On May 16, 2018, Deputy T. Broadway, from the Victorville Police Department, observed a motorcycle traveling eastbound on Bear Valley Road at a high rate of speed. At the intersection of Bear Valley and Hesperia Roads, the motorcycle stopped at a red signal light. Looking back and seeing Deputy Broadway behind him, the driver accelerated through the red light and continued east on Bear Valley Road.
Deputy Broadway attempted to conduct a traffic stop, activating his red emergency lights and siren. The driver of the motorcycle failed to yield. Deputies pursued the motorcycle thru Victorville, Apple Valley, and eventually onto the southbound Interstate 15. Sheriff’s Aviation crew, 40K7, assisted deputies as the pursuit continued southbound on the freeway. Due to the high rate of speed, the ground pursuit was terminated just south of the Main Street on-ramp. 40K7 continued to follow and observe the motorcycle to Highway 138 and back into the High Desert.
At approximately 11:23 p.m., the driver, later identified as Sean Watson, crashed the motorcycle on the Main Street overpass in Hesperia. Deputies from the Hesperia and Victor Valley Stations were on scene quickly to assist in detaining Watson and requested medical aid. Watson suffered multiple fractures and other injuries. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was admitted.
The case will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s office for review and filing.
