Apply to be Considered for the Fall Session of Citizens' Police Academy

The Santa Clara Police Department’s (SCPD) Citizens’ Police Academy (CPA) is a 12-week program designed to provide our citizens and business community with a greater understanding of law enforcement and a behind the scenes, in-depth look at SCPD's organizational structure, functions and operational procedures.

The curriculum and teaching methods are similar to those of the regular Police Academy, with a mixture of lectures, demonstrations, videos, tours and hands-on activities in a safe, controlled environment. The weekly sessions are not intended to train participants to be a law enforcement professional, but rather produce more informed citizens. The program also includes a tour of the Police Building, a Sit-Along in the City's Communications Center, a Ride-Along with a police officer and a tour of Levi's Stadium.

The Fall session will meet from 6:00-10:00pm on Wednesdays from August 22 through November 14. In addition, there is one Saturday session, TBD from 9:00am-4:00pm. Additional information, including the application, is available online at goo.gl/cj2UkL

The application deadline is June 1, 2018.
