Officers from the Muskegon Police Department will be participating in a Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning Enforcement Federal Grant aimed at driver/passenger restraint violations. Teams of officers will be looking for unbelted motorists on May 21 and May 22. Michigan law requires all drivers, front-seat passengers and passengers 15 and younger in any position to be buckled up. Children must be in a car seat or booster seat until they are eight years old or 4'9" (four-feet, nine-inches tall). Please join us in ensuring that not one life is lost due to lack of safety belt use. Please buckle up!
