Flood Warning until 02:15AM Wednesday

The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

* Flood Warning for... Southeastern Washington County in north central Maryland... West central Frederick County in north central Maryland... Northern Loudoun County in northern Virginia... East central Jefferson County in the Panhandle of West Virginia...

* Until 430 AM EDT.

* At 1030 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain that has caused flooding. Reports of up to six inches of rain have been received in Frederick County. There are numerous reports of ongoing flooding of area streams with many roads closed. Although the worst of the flooding has now passed, flooding is expected to continue for much of the night, especially near streams.

* Some locations that may experience flooding include... Frederick, Harry Grove Stadium, Ballenger Creek, Brunswick, Walkersville, Ranson, Braddock Heights, Harpers Ferry, Clover Hill, Discovery-Spring Garden, Linganore-Bartonsville, Jefferson, Libertytown, Shenandoah Junction, Rohrersville, Burkittsville, Gapland, Brownsville, Antietam and Bolivar.

* AFFECTED AREAS: JEFFERSON

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
