DUARTE WEEKLY CRIME BLOTTER May 6 - May 12, 2018

The following is a synopsis of crimes reported for the week of May 6 – May 12, 2018
 
May 6, 2018

  • A Petty Theft/Shoplifting was reported at 1050 Huntington Drive (Target).  Two female juveniles were observed by loss prevention removing clothing items from the clothing racks, then entering a fitting room.  When the juveniles left the fitting room, they did not have the clothes, nor were the clothes found in the fitting room.  Once outside the store, the juveniles were detained and after further investigation, the juveniles were arrested for shoplifting after the clothing were located in their backpacks.  
 
May 7, 2018
  • A Grand Theft was reported at 1718 Highland Avenue (Cooks Collision).  An employee stated someone stole over $11,000 worth of tools from a locked tool chest, while the employee was out on disability leave. 
 
  • A Grand Theft was reported at 2436 Huntington Drive (Duarte Elks Lodge).  The irrigation backflow device worth approximately $1,500 was stolen from the outside of the building.
 
May 8, 2018
  • A Residential Burglary was reported in the 500 block of Greenbank Avenue.  Unknown suspect(s) entered the residence by shattering the rear sliding glass door, and ransacked the house.  Due to the house being ransacked, the victim was unsure if anything had been stolen.    
 
May 9, 2018
  • No significant activity.  
 
May 10, 2018
  • A Vehicle Burglary was reported in the 3400 block of Fish Canyon Road.  A drone and a duffle bag containing miscellaneous clothing items were stolen from the interior of the victim’s 2014 Ford F250 truck, along with the truck’s tailgate.
 
  • A Commercial Burglary was reported at 2150 Huntington Drive (The Patio).  Unknown suspect(s) entered the business and stole the cash register which contained approximately fifty dollars.  It is unknown how entry into the business was made.   
 
  • A Grand Theft was reported in the 1600 block of 1st Street.  Jewelry and personal items were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.     
 
 
 
 
May 11, 2018
  • A Petty Theft was reported at 1050 Huntington Drive (Target).  An adult male was arrested after he was observed by loss prevention officers, concealing ten pairs of pants in his backpack and not paying for the items prior to leaving the store.  The suspect admitted to stealing the pants because he was homeless.      
 
May 12, 2018
  • No significant activity.

  • Deputies arrested an adult male for possession of illegal narcotics, an adult male for possession of a loaded firearm.

  • Deputies arrested an adult male for driving under the influence.  
 
May 10, 2018
  • Deputies arrested an adult male for felon in possession of tear gas, an adult male for spousal assault  
 
May 11, 2018
  • Deputies arrested an adult female for loitering in the park after hours, an adult male for petty theft/shoplifting. 
 
May 12, 2018
  • No significant activity.
