SUMMARY:
On May 13, 2018, deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to the 12300 block of Glenwood Lane, after receiving a report of a man being shot at.

The 34-year-old male victim reported he and the suspect, identified as Johnny Hicks, were in an argument. Hicks pointed a handgun at the victim and fired several shots. The victim was not hit by the gunfire and called 911. When Hicks learned the police had been called, a woman at the scene gave him the keys to her car so he could leave the location.

Deputies arriving at the location found the woman, identified as Parvaneh Jones, sitting in Hicks’ car and she was in possession of the firearm used to shoot at the victim. With the assistance of Sheriff’s Aviation, 40-King-7, deputies located Hicks on Little Beaver Street, in Victorville. Hicks was detained without incident.

Hicks, a convicted felon, was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for assault on a person/with a firearm, willful discharge of a firearm/with gross negligence, felon in possession of a firearm, and felon in possession of ammunition. Jones was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for conspiracy to commit a crime. Both are scheduled to appear in Victorville Superior Court on May 15, 2018.
