Two Robbery Suspects in Custody

Subject: Robbery Suspects in Custody
Location: 600 Block of 15th Street, Manhattan Beach, CA, 90266
On Thursday, May 10, 2018, at approximately 1:15pm, a strong arm robbery occurred in the 600 block of 15th Street in Manhattan Beach. One suspect, who was driving a silver BMW, dropped off a second suspect near the intersection of Deegan Place and 15th Street. The suspect who got out of the BMW ran up behind a female who was walking through the American Martyrs Church parking lot and ripped the victim’s purse from her shoulder. The victim fell to the ground and sustained significant injuries. The suspect ran from the parking lot with the victim’s purse and met up with the suspect driving the BMW. Both suspects then fled the scene. The victim was transported to the hospital.
On Friday, May 11, 2018, detectives from the Manhattan Beach Police Department followed up on information they received from the security cameras at American Martyrs Church and arrested the driver of the BMW.
On Monday, May 14, 2018, MBPD detectives followed up on additional information and arrested the primary suspect. Both suspects have been charged with robbery and assault with a deadly weapon and are in custody at the Manhattan Beach jail awaiting their court date.
