The following crimes were reported in Saugus (Zone 4) during Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station during 04/30/18 – 05/06/18:

04/30/18 
Residential Burglary – 27600 block of Susan Beth Way 
The suspect entered the victim’s unlocked sliding porch door and stole several ounces of silver from the victim’s room. 

05/01/18 
Theft from Unlocked Vehicle – 27500 block of Falling Star 
The suspect stole U.S. currency from the victim’s unlocked vehicle during early morning hours. 

05/04/18 
Petty Theft – 28000 block of Half Moon Place 
An unknown suspect stole a “Pizza Hut” roof sign off the top of the victim’s vehicle. 

05/05/18 
Grand Theft Auto – 24000 block of Marzal Street 
A 2016 BMW 340I was stolen from the location. The victim left the keys inside the vehicle. This vehicle is still outstanding. 

Reduce your chance of becoming a victim. There are several things you can do to reduce your chance of becoming a victim. The most common mistake victim’s make is not locking their car doors. This simple step would prevent most burglary crimes that are reported to our station. Another helpful tip that you can do is to remove any valuable items from your vehicle. It is common for thieves to look inside your vehicle and see if there is anything of value left in plain view. By removing these items your vehicle becomes less attractive to thieves.
