On Friday, May 4, 2018 at approximately 6:50 P.M., a two vehicle traffic collision occurred at the intersection of Central Avenue and University Drive in the city of Carson.
 
The vehicles involved in the collision, a 2016 grey, Toyota Prius, and a black, 2008 Nissan 350Z (2 seater) sustained major damage.  Both occupants of the Toyota Prius, a male and female adult, suffered critical injuries and were transported to a local hospital for life saving treatment.  One of the occupants of the Nissan 350Z, a female adult, also sustained critical injuries however the other male adult occupant was not injured.
 
On Monday, May, 7, 2018, the 30 year-old female passenger of the Prius, resident of Torrance and patron of the rideshare service she had requested, succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.    
Due to inconsistent statements from occupants in one of the vehicles and no witnesses to the collision coming forward, Carson Station investigators are asking the public’s assistance with any information about the collision.
