A man physically assaulted a hospital employee, runs away and attempts a carjacking before being arrested

LOCATION: 16800 block of Bear Valley Road, Victorville
SUSPECT: Mykcus Ceballos, 28-year old Los Angeles resident
VICTIM: Confidential - Adult Female
SUMMARY: On May 7, 2018, deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to Desert Valley Hospital, after staff called to report a man had assaulted an employee.
The suspect, Mykcus Ceballos, had arrived by ambulance at the hospital to receive care, after reporting he felt suicidal. The victim was assigned to provide care to Ceballos. While providing care, Ceballos approached her from behind, put his arm around her neck and began hitting her in the face and head. He then ran from the hospital. The victim received medical attention at the scene.
Deputies located Ceballos near Bear Valley Road and Hesperia Road and attempted to take him into custody. He did not comply with orders given by the deputies and ran into the roadway, where he attempted to gain access to a vehicle waiting at a red light. He was unable to open the locked vehicle door. Deputies contacted Ceballos in the roadway and again he failed to comply with the orders given. He became combative, causing a deputy to deploy their Taser and use force to gain control of him.
Ceballos was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for battery on emergency personnel, attempted carjacking and evading and resisting a peace officer. He is scheduled to appear in Victorville Superior Court on May 9, 2018.
