On May 2, 2018 McClain County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to investigate a body found inside a pick-up parked on the shoulder of the northbound lanes of I-35 just south of the Goldsby Exit. A Lighthorse Police Officer was contacted by a man at Love’s Country Store. The man told the officer his truck had ran out of gas and that there was a body in the back of his vehicle.

McClain County Deputies located the vehicle south of the Goldsby Exit on the shoulder of the north bound lanes of Interstate 35. It was confirmed a deceased body was in the back floor board of the vehicle. The death is considered suspicious and the O.S.B.I. (Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation) has been requested in the investigation.

The driver of the vehicle has been identified as Daniel Vasquez and has been arrested charged with accessory after the fact. The death is being considered as a homicide. The victim has been identified by the State Medical Examiner’s Office as Shaliyah Toombs from Oklahoma City. Shaliyah was approximately seven months pregnant. Shaliyah was reported missing Sunday night from a southwest Oklahoma City Apartment.

Two subjects wanted for questioning was believed to be in Arkansas. Cleburne County sheriff’s Office was notified to be on the lookout for the subjects. Cleburne County Deputies located the suspect’s vehicle. Three subjects were taken into custody. Two of the subjects were persons of interest. O.S.B.I. Agents interviewed the subjects. After the interviews two of the subjects were arrest. Joshua Finkbeiner, 30 and Staci Harjo 42 were arrested on two counts of First Degree Murder and are currently in custody at Cleburne County Detention Center. They are awaiting extradition to Oklahoma.
