Two documented gang members found with a loaded firearm in the vehicle are arrested following a routine traffic stop

INCIDENT: PC29800(a)(1) Felon in Possession of a firearm, PC23900 Removal of Serial Number from a Firearm, PC30305(a) Felon in Possession of Ammunition and PC12022.1(b) Committing a Felony while on Bail.
LOCATION: Terrace Pines Dr/Aspen Cir City of Grand Terrace
SUSPECT(S): Adrian Leon, 26-year-old a resident of Grand Terrace; Joseph Rios, 29-year-old a resident of San Bernardino
SUMMARY:
On Sunday, May 6th, at approximately 8:30 pm, Deputy A. Lopez conducted a traffic stop for vehicle code violations. The vehicle yielded without incident. The driver, Adrian Leon, is on active parole for Felony Assault. Leon exited the vehicle and was argumentative but detained without further incident. The passenger identified as Joseph Rios exited the vehicle and was detained. Rios is currently out on bail for violation of PC29800(a)(1), Felon in Possession of a Firearm. During the traffic stop, a loaded .357 revolver with an obliterated serial number was found.
During a parole search of Leon's residence, two different calibers of live ammunition were located. Leon and Rios are both convicted felons prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition. Both Leon and Rios are documented active gang members. Both suspects were booked into the Central Detention Center on multiple felony charges.
