Flood Warning until 05:30PM

The National Weather Service in Charleston West Virginia has extended the

* Flood Warning for... Southwestern Randolph County in northeastern West Virginia...

* Until 345 PM EDT

* At 122 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms with heavy rain over the area. The rain will cause flooding. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen over the past two days.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Mill Creek, Huttonsville and Valley Head.

* AFFECTED AREAS: RANDOLPH

Instructions:

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying spots. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of streets around Huntington. This highest threat areas for flooding are the railroad viaducts at 1st, 8th, 10th, 16th and 20th streets. In addition, the railroad viaduct at 14th street west may flood. Flooding may also be occurring along 5th avenue between 24th and 25th streets. Please report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll free, 800 401 9535, when you can do so safely. You may also report flooding by posting your report to the Charleston West Virginia National Weather Service Facebook Page, or by using the Twitter Hashtag, NWSRLX.
