Deputy is conducting extra patrol and catches a vehicle burglar minutes after he steals property

LOCATION: LA Fitness - 28015 Greenspot Rd., Highland
SUSPECT: Oscar Mandujano, 31 years old, resident of Perris
SUMMARY:
On Thursday, May 3, 2018, at approximately 3:15 P.M., Deputy Daphne Moreno was conducting extra patrol in the LA Fitness parking lot on Greenspot Rd., due to recent vehicle burglaries in the area. Deputy Moreno heard a car alarm sounding and responded towards the area when she saw a vehicle with a broken window and glass on the ground. Moreno saw a maroon 1999 four door Nissan Altima leave the location at a high rate of speed and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle, was identified Oscar Mandujano of Perris, who was found to be out on bail for vehicle burglary. During the investigation, it was discovered that Mandujano broke the passenger window to the victim’s vehicle and stole the victim’ backpack. The backpack, containing over $4000 in property, was returned to the victim after it was recovered inside the suspect’s vehicle.
Mandujano was arrested and booked into the Central Detention Center for vehicle burglary and possession of stolen property.
